Lastinger Learning Reading App

The UF Lastinger Center for Learning’s Reading App is an innovative online platform that equips educators with evidence-based literacy tools, supporting instruction in both face-to-face and virtual settings. Designed to expand access to high-quality reading resources, the app offers a platform for educators to plan interactive, teacher-guided lessons that help readers build essential literacy skills through engaging, research-based instruction.

The app provides users:

Access to a library of over 900 books in English and Spanish
Phonological awareness activities
Word work to build decoding skills

The app provides educators with opportunities to:

Create multi-step Lesson Builders that combine reading, word work, writing, and assessments into a dynamic, interactive experiences
Share lessons & collaborate within an organization

Eligible Users

The Reading App is appropriate for Pre-K to 12th grade educators, including teachers, interventionists, tutors and parents.

Once on the site, click the orange icon in the top right corner.
Register with the code FREEBASIC, your name, email, and new password.
Check your inbox (including your spam folder) for a confirmation email.
Once confirming your email, you’ll have app access!
