Florida Literacy Coach Endorsement

The UF Lastinger Center for Learning’s Literacy Coach Endorsement is a comprehensive online program created in partnership with the Florida Department of Education and Just Read, Florida! to equip literacy coaches with the skills, expertise and resources they need to increase the effectiveness of literacy instruction.

Program Overview

The Literacy Coach Endorsement Program consists of five online learning courses and job-embedded activities. Participants receive individualized feedback from a trained instructor and access to Literacy Playbooks.

Participants who successfully complete the program can earn a $1,000 stipend, deepen their knowledge of the Science of Reading, refine and build their coaching skills, and develop the expertise needed to support improvements in literacy teaching.

This program is aligned with the Florida Literacy Coaching Domains and Standards, with all content and activities designed to ensure a high-impact learning experience and prepare you to serve as an effective, endorsed coach in your context.

Timeline

The program can be completed over the course of the school year. Each of the five courses take approximately 5 weeks to complete.

Eligible Participants

K-12 non-RAISE school-based literacy coaches in Florida 
District and Consortia literacy leaders who support coaches
Coaches who have the Florida Reading Endorsement on their professional certificate

Overview

The Train the Trainer program prepares current literacy coaches to lead district-level or statewide cohorts of the Florida Literacy Coach Endorsement. Participants gain knowledge and skills rlated to facilitation and program content.

Eligibility:
Participants must have completed the Florida Literacy Coach Endorsement between fall 2022 and spring 2025.

Eligible participants will enroll through their District Reading Contact. Please reach out to your District Contact to express interest in the program. A full list of Contacts can be found here.

Format

The five required training sessions are held on Zoom. Each session is two hours. Please see the spring 2026 schedule below.
