Leadership Development Pathway
This online professional learning experience is designed to deepen the expertise of instructional leaders in early childhood education settings. The courses explore history, research, policies and ethics surrounding early childhood education while providing participants evidence-based strategies to use in their programs. This pathway supports program leaders in completing the Overview of Childcare Management courses to qualify for the Florida Director Credential.
Program Overview
The goal of this pathway is for early childhood professionals to gain an understanding of what it means to be effective program leaders by:
- Building a positive and professional work environment
- Understanding financial planning and program policies
- Conducting observations, assessments and planning
- Connecting with families and advocating for quality early learning to improve child outcomes
Eligible Participants
This pathway is free for all School Readiness & VPK providers in Florida, including:
- Current or aspiring program leaders
- Educators
- Owners
Format
This pathway is made up of three parts:
- Part 1: Online Course: Effective Operations in Early Care and Education (EOECE)
- Part 2: Online Course: Professionalism in Early Childhood Education for Directors (PECED)
- Part 3: Leadership Capstone
