Community of Practice Facilitator Training

This program prepares participants to effectively facilitate professional learning experiences through collaborative tools and processes.

Program Overview

The Lastinger Community of Practice facilitator training provides participants with an understanding of how to facilitate adult learners through collaborative tools and high-quality, job-embedded professional learning. Guided by the Lastinger Community of Practice framework, this program teaches current or aspiring facilitators how to:

Give and receive feedback effectively
Engage in reflective conversations
Analyze successes and challenges
Implement collaborative tools and processes to support practice

Eligible Participants

Those who regularly convene groups of early childhood educators
Program leaders
Trainers
Coaches
Aspiring facilitators and program leaders

Returning Participants

Trained facilitators can strengthen their practice and network with peers through the Advanced CoP Facilitator Training.

How to Enroll

Enrollment begins September 8 in partnership with Early Learning Coalitions.

How to Recertify

Previously certified facilitators must recertify annually. To recertify, please enroll in a Communities of Practice Facilitator Calibration.

For New or Aspiring Facilitators

CoP Institutes

Early Childhood professionals who would like to become a Lastinger certified CoP facilitator can complete a three-day Institute.

Format

Institutes are in-person for three days.

Community of Practice Calibrations

(required annually)

Overview

Lastinger Certified Facilitators maintain their certification and deepen their facilitation skills through the CoP Calibrations. Participants only need to attend one three-hour Calibration virtually or in-person to maintain their certification.

Lastinger certified CoP facilitators

Enrollment begins September 8. Certified facilitators will receive an email with the application link.

Format

Calibrations are offered in-person or virtually.

Strengthen facilitation skills and apply the UF Lastinger Center CoP framework with integrity
Build confidence in selecting learning protocols and designing effective CoP agendas
