Advanced Community of Practice Facilitator Training

Professional learning experience for Lastinger trained CoP facilitators to strengthen facilitation moves, apply new learning and build a community of practice with peers.

Program Overview

The Advanced Community of Practice Certification Program provides Lastinger trained CoP facilitators with opportunities to strengthen facilitation moves, apply new learning and engage in a supportive network of peers. Through this job-embedded professional learning experience, facilitators build their own Community of Practice while advancing their skills in leading others.

The program aims to:

Deepen facilitation skills necessary to design and lead effective Communities of Practice
Provide a network for sharing successes, challenges, and strategies across facilitators statewide
Support ongoing growth and development through collaborative reflection and practice

Lastinger trained CoP facilitators

Format

All sessions in this program are conducted virtually, including two initial 5-hour virtual Communities of Practice sessions, three 2-hour follow-up sessions, an additional 5-hour session later in the program, ongoing office hours for support, and a culminating showcase.

How to Recertify

Previously certified facilitators must recertify annually. To recertify, please enroll in a Communities of Practice Facilitator Calibration.

For New or Aspiring Facilitators

CoP Institutes

Early Childhood professionals who would like to become a Lastinger certified CoP facilitator can complete a three-day Institute.

Format

Institutes are in-person or online for three days.

Communities of Practice Calibrations

(required annually)

Overview

Lastinger certified facilitators maintain their certification and deepen their facilitation skills through the annual CoP Calibrations. Participants only need to attend one three-hour Calibration virtually or in-person to maintain their certification.
