Small Group Literacy Instruction professional learning provides K-12 literacy educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to make instructional decisions based on the individual needs of students.
Program Overview

This program follows a five step research-based approach to reading instruction:
- Step 1: Reading for Fluency
- Step 2: Targeted Assessment
- Step 3: Explicit Word Instruction
- Step 4: Reading for Meaning
- Step 5: Connecting Reading and Writing

Eligible Participants
This program is designed for Kindergarten – 12th grade literacy educators.
Format
Small Group Instruction professional learning is comprised of:
- 3 days (18 hours) of face-to-face training
- 2 (2-hour) virtual ongoing professional learning sessions
- 5 on-site (6-hour) Implementation Support Visits
