New Worlds Reading Teacher Professional Learning
The New Worlds Reading Teacher Professional Learning, created in partnership with the Florida Department of Education and the UF Lastinger Center for Learning, is a FREE professional learning opportunity for Florida educators.
Program Overview
This program consists of in-person training and resources to take back to the classroom that connect the New Worlds Reading home book delivery program to literacy instruction.
Eligible Participants
- K-5 classroom teachers in Florida’s public schools, including public charter schools
- VPK lead teachers and aides who work at a VPK contracted provider

Components
- Training and resources that connect the New Worlds Reading home book delivery program to classroom-based literacy instruction
- One-day, in-person institute
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST
- Breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided

2026 Timeline
Institute sessions are scheduled at three locations across the state and organized into VPK-K, 1-2, and 3-5 grade bands.
Participants choose any one-day institute at any of the three locations, regardless of district of employment. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
